Jan-Lennard Struff (ATP No. 75) holds the ranking edge over Nikoloz Basilashvili (No. 129) in this Rolex Monte Carlo Masters qualifying first-round clash on outdoor clay, where Struff's booming serve and baseline power suit the surface despite his sluggish 2-6 YTD start, including an Australian Open R128 exit. Basilashvili counters with a 4-3 head-to-head advantage, going 3-1 on clay in their prior meetings like the 2021 Munich final, bolstered by his historical clay prowess, though recent hardcourt struggles post-elbow injury recovery—losses in Miami R128 to Mariano Navone and Montpellier R32—highlight rust. No fresh injuries reported; expect standard spring conditions at Monte-Carlo Country Club.
