Tristan Schoolkate, the No. 2 seed ranked No. 119, faces Facundo Mena, ranked No. 160, in the San Luis Potosi Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor clay, their first head-to-head matchup. Both advanced convincingly from the round of 16 on April 1, with Schoolkate dominating Corentin Denolly 6-1 6-2 and Mena routing Patrick Zahraj 6-2 6-1 after upsetting No. 8 seed Stefano Napolitano 6-4 6-0 in the round of 32. Mena, an Argentine clay specialist with a strong 13-5 record on the surface this year, holds home-continent advantages, while Australian Schoolkate shows improving Challenger form despite limited clay experience. No injury concerns reported; trader consensus reflects a competitive clash hinging on baseline rallies and stamina.
