Michigan's hiring of Dusty May from FAU and its top-ranked 2025 recruiting class lead trader consensus at 20.5% implied probability for the 2026 NCAA Tournament title, narrowly ahead of Arizona (19.6%) with its portal reinforcements and elite commits under Tommy Lloyd, and Duke (16.5%) bolstered by No. 1 prospect Cooper Flagg. This tight clustering among high-majors stems from offseason parity via the transfer portal, freshman influxes, and coaching momentum, as returning production remains fluid post-NBA draft deadlines. Crowds price in uncertainty from unproven chemistry, injury risks, and Big Ten/Pac-12 realignments, keeping Florida, Houston, and others viable amid widespread talent distribution.
