Michael Olise and Lamine Yamal lead the market for most assists at the 2026 World Cup due to their exceptional creative output in the 2025-26 club season, where both generated elite chance-creation numbers and double-digit assists while featuring prominently for France and Spain. Bruno Fernandes sits close behind on the back of his set-piece delivery and consistent playmaking for Portugal. The tight spread among the top contenders reflects how World Cup assist tallies hinge on variables like starting XI roles, team progression through the knockout stages, minutes played, and stylistic fit with forwards. Multiple attacking midfielders and wingers from high-possession sides enter the tournament in strong recent form, creating a clustered field where small differences in opportunity or finishing can shift the outcome quickly.
