In Group 1 of the ITTF Men's & Women's World Cup Macao 2026 women's singles, world No. 1 Sun Yingsha's title defense against lower-ranked Dina Meshref draws even trader consensus at 50% implied probability for Sun, reflecting the stylistic clash where Meshref's left-handed play could disrupt the Chinese star's rhythm despite Sun's overwhelming recent dominance, including her third Singapore Smash crown earlier this month. Their lone head-to-head, a 3-1 Sun win in the 2024 Olympics team event, was competitive, underscoring upset potential in table tennis group stage pressure. Yesterday's draw announcement heightened focus; Sun's opener today versus Li Yu-Jhun and any service inconsistencies could sway odds, while Meshref's early Singapore Smash exit tempers expectations but highlights her experience.
