Anhelina Kalinina (WTA No. 49) holds a slight edge over Polona Hercog (No. 136) in their Dubrovnik clay-court matchup, buoyed by her recent three-match winning streak, including a straight-sets quarterfinal victory showcasing improved serve and baseline consistency. Hercog, a clay specialist with two Grand Slam quarterfinal runs on the surface, has mounted a comeback via Challenger titles this season, relying on her topspin forehand and experience in extended rallies. Kalinina leads head-to-head 2-1, though Hercog won their lone prior clay clash. No injuries reported from official updates; favorable weather expected with light winds. Key factors include Kalinina's ranking advantage and momentum versus Hercog's surface savvy and upset potential in a best-of-three sets format.
