Viktoriya Tomova holds a substantial edge as the No. 8 seed in Credit One Charleston Open qualifiers with her No. 163 WTA ranking towering over Usue Maitane Arconada's No. 680, driving trader consensus toward the Bulgarian in this first-round green-clay matchup at Credit One Stadium. Tomova's greater WTA experience on clay (career 18-36 record) contrasts Arconada's sparse pro results, including a 0-1 start to 2026 on hard courts and recent ITF setbacks. Both arrive off losses—Tomova's latest in Miami qualifying (4-7 YTD)—with no head-to-head history. Arconada benefits from home wildcard status and crowd support, but Tomova's consistency tempers upset potential absent injury news.
