St. Louis Cardinals (4-2, second in NL Central) head to Nationals Park for a three-game series opener on April 6 against the Washington Nationals (3-3, fifth in NL East), buoyed by a walk-off victory over the Mets on April 1 that capped a strong early start. Nationals limped in after dropping a 6-5 extra-innings decision to the Phillies on April 1, exposing rotation vulnerabilities with Josiah Gray and Trevor Williams sidelined on the 60-day IL. Probable starters Andre Pallante (STL) versus an undecided Nationals arm highlight pitching as key, alongside St. Louis' absent Lars Nootbaar (60-day IL, heels). Cardinals hold head-to-head edge; mild DC weather poses no issues.
