Toronto Blue Jays hold a 2-0 series lead over the Oakland Athletics in their 2026 season-opening set at Rogers Centre, fueled by dramatic walk-off wins—the first team to achieve consecutive walk-offs to start a campaign since 2014—including Ernie Clement's game-winning single in Saturday's 11-inning 8-7 thriller after Alejandro Kirk's ninth-inning homer tied it. Sunday's rubber match features Eric Lauer's Toronto debut against Luis Morales, a Cactus League standout making his first MLB start for Oakland, with both bullpens tested early amid the Jays' pitching injuries like José Berríos' elbow stress fracture and Trey Yesavage's shoulder issue. Home-field momentum and lineup depth favor Toronto traders despite the Athletics' resilience in close contests.
