The New York Mets hold a 2-0 series lead over the St. Louis Cardinals after 4-2 and subsequent victories on March 30-31 at Busch Stadium, boosting their early 3-1 record while the Cardinals sit at 2-2. Today's rubber match features Mets RHP Freddy Peralta (1-0, 7.20 ERA) in his second start since joining New York, facing Cardinals LHP Matthew Liberatore (0-0, 1.80 ERA) in a favorable home matchup for St. Louis. Minor bullpen tweaks include Cardinals placing RP Matt Pushard on the 15-day IL (knee) and recalling Gordon Graceffo, with Mets missing relievers like A.J. Minter (lat). Early-season form favors the hot-starting Mets lineup, but Cardinals' home advantage and Liberatore's efficiency could spark a turnaround amid unpredictable April weather indoors.
