Arizona Diamondbacks lead the three-game series 2-0 against the visiting Detroit Tigers after snapping an 0-3 start with 9-6 and 7-5 victories at Chase Field, powered by Corbin Carroll's four RBIs in Game 1 and rookie Jose Fernandez's two-homer MLB debut in Game 2. Both clubs sit at 2-3 early in the season, with Tigers ace Tarik Skubal (1-0, 0.00 ERA) facing struggling Zac Gallen (0-1, 9.00 ERA) in the finale, pitting Detroit's rotation strength against Arizona's home-field momentum and resurgent offense. Key absences include D-backs 1B Pavin Smith (elbow, 10-day IL) and Tigers SS Trey Sweeney (shoulder, 10-day IL), while recent high-scoring affairs highlight bullpen vulnerabilities for both sides.
