Atlanta Braves head to Chase Field for a four-game series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks, with Reynaldo López (1.50 ERA in one start) facing Ryne Nelson (7.71 ERA) in a pivotal early-season pitching matchup favoring the visitor. The Braves enter at 3-2, second in the NL East after a stronger-than-expected start including a recent win over the Athletics, while the Diamondbacks sit 1-3, third in the NL West amid lineup woes. Both teams grapple with significant injured list absences—Atlanta missing Spencer Strider (oblique), Sean Murphy (hip), and multiple rotation arms like AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow); Arizona without Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (ACL) and Merrill Kelly. Travel fatigue for Atlanta and Chase Field's hitter-friendly confines could influence bullpen usage and late-inning outcomes.
