Sri Lanka leads trader consensus at 74% implied probability to win the ODI series against Afghanistan, driven by their dominant head-to-head record, including a 3-0 whitewash in the 2024 ODIs and nine ODI victories overall to Afghanistan's three. Sri Lanka's deeper batting lineup, featuring Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka, provides matchup advantages over Afghanistan's spin-heavy attack led by Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, even on UAE pitches that favor turn. Recent squad announcements highlight Afghanistan's reliance on veterans like Mohammad Nabi and all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai under captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, but key pacers like Naveen-ul-Haq remain sidelined from earlier injuries. The series, originally set for March in Dubai, stands postponed indefinitely due to West Asia conflict, yet markets reflect Sri Lanka's superior form from their recent 1-2 ODI series loss to England.
