Second-seeded Hugo Dellien enters as the clear ranking favorite at No. 159 against No. 359 Eduardo Ribeiro in the São Leopoldo Challenger's clay-court Round of 32, buoyed by a strong quarterfinal run last week at the Sao Paulo Challenger where he defeated Joao Lucas Reis da Silva and Facundo Diaz Acosta before falling to Tomas Barrios Vera. Dellien holds a 2-1 head-to-head edge on clay, including straight-set wins over Ribeiro in October 2023 at Campinas and Curitiba Challengers. Ribeiro, a Brazilian local drawing home support, showed qualifier grit with recent clay wins but exited early in Sao Paulo; no injury concerns reported for either, though Dellien's surface experience and momentum shape trader consensus on this first-round matchup.
