Higher-ranked Rafael Jodar (No. 89), the 19-year-old Spaniard who debuted in the top 100 this week, meets qualifier Dusan Lajovic (No. 132) in the Grand Prix Hassan II first-round match on outdoor clay in Marrakech. Jodar enters 18-7 year-to-date but untested on clay in 2026, following hard-court showings like Miami's Round of 32 exit to Etcheverry after qualifier wins over Hanfmann and Vukic. Lajovic, a 35-year-old clay veteran with a 112-120 ATP career record on the surface, gained match sharpness via qualifying triumphs over Jakub Paul (6-1, 6-4) and Lloyd Harris in the past 48 hours. No head-to-head exists, pitting Jodar's momentum against Lajovic's recent clay rhythm and experience; winner likely faces a seeded opponent next.
