Sebastian Baez, ranked No. 52, holds a clear edge over No. 105 Vilius Gaubas in their ATP 250 Tiriac Open round-of-32 clash on outdoor clay, buoyed by his clay-court pedigree—including a quarterfinal run at Buenos Aires in February 2026—and a prior straight-sets win over Gaubas in the 2023 Buenos Aires event on the same surface. Baez has struggled lately on hard courts, exiting Indian Wells in the round of 32 and Miami in the first round last week, but returns to his preferred clay. Gaubas, a 21-year-old Lithuanian riding momentum from his first ATP Tour win as a lucky loser in Santiago earlier this month and a career-high ranking, brings aggressive baseline play and recent Challenger success, though his 10-10 YTD record tempers upset potential. No injuries reported; mild spring weather expected in Bucharest.
