Trader consensus prices Cheng I-Ching as a slim 50.5% favorite in this WTT women's singles matchup, reflecting her edge as the higher-ranked #19 ITTF player with superior experience at age 34 and a 3-1 quarterfinal victory over Hana Goda in last October's WTT Champions Montpellier. Cheng advanced deeper at the recent WTT Champions Chongqing, reaching the semifinals before a 3-1 loss to Satsuki Odo, underscoring her consistency against elite fields. Goda, the dynamic 18-year-old Egyptian at #26 ITTF, balances the scales with her aggressive shakehand style and upset pedigree, including a near-miss against Sun Yingsha at US Smash 2025 and a round-of-32 exit to Wang Yidi in Chongqing. Last-minute practice results, fatigue from recent travel, or minor withdrawals could tip the closely contested odds.
