Trader consensus on Polymarket implies a 73.5% probability that Valve's Steam Machine gaming console will launch at $700 or more, driven by escalating component costs from global RAM and storage shortages highlighted in Valve's February 2026 update. The company delayed pricing announcements and confirmed an early 2026 release window amid Samsung's rumored price hikes, with leaks from a Czech retailer suggesting $950 for the 512GB model. Analysts like Linus Tech Tips peg base pricing near $699—borderline but likely to exceed $700 without subsidies—aligning with a "priced like a PC" stance from Valve developers. Upcoming catalysts include official MSRPs before H1 launch, potentially swayed by supply chain stabilization or competitive pressure from PS5 Pro equivalents.
