Severe winter weather slamming the Northeast and Midwest has driven Polymarket traders to a near-unanimous 99% "Yes" consensus on over 240 US flight cancellations on March 24, with FAA ground stops at major hubs like LaGuardia and O'Hare amplifying the chaos. FlightAware data already logs over 450 cancellations by evening, surpassing the threshold amid snow, ice, and winds grounding airlines like United, Delta, and Southwest—echoing past storm-induced disruptions that routinely exceed such benchmarks. Trader confidence stems from real-time tracking and historical precedents where weather events spike cancellations 5-10x normal levels. Realistic upsets are slim: a miraculous clear-up or data recount undercounting international codeshares, but with volumes locked in, resolution favors "Yes."
