Sri Lanka's 58% implied probability as series favorite stems from their commanding head-to-head dominance in ODIs, securing 10 wins in 15 clashes including a 3-0 sweep during Afghanistan's 2024 tour, bolstered by superior batting depth from Pathum Nissanka and others against Afghanistan's spin-heavy attack led by Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Afghanistan's pace options are diminished without Naveen-ul-Haq, sidelined by a stress fracture and ODI retirement, while Sri Lanka's recent bilateral form edges out Afghanistan's inconsistent results amid limited 2026 ODIs. UAE venues like Dubai offer spin-friendly pitches and toss advantages for the hosts, yet traders see Sri Lanka's experience prevailing in a competitive matchup, despite the series postponement due to regional conflict with rescheduling pending.
