The three-match T20I series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, slated for Sharjah Cricket Stadium starting March 13, was indefinitely postponed on March 11 by the Afghanistan Cricket Board amid West Asian military conflicts disrupting flights and regional security. Afghanistan unveiled opener Ibrahim Zadran as their new T20I captain, succeeding Rashid Khan, with a squad blending youth like Sediqullah Atal and spin firepower from Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, and veteran Mohammad Nabi. Sri Lanka holds a recent head-to-head edge, chasing down 170 for a six-wicket win in their Asia Cup 2025 group clash. Traders eye potential rescheduling to late 2026, as pitch conditions and team form remain untested in this fixture.
