Camilo Ugo Carabelli, ranked No. 67 with a career-high of 43, holds a decisive 2-0 head-to-head edge over qualifier Timofey Skatov (No. 202) on clay from 2023 meetings in Buenos Aires qualifying and Luedenscheid, fueling trader consensus toward the Argentine clay specialist in this Grand Prix Hassan II first-round clash on Marrakech's red clay courts. Carabelli reached Buenos Aires quarterfinals in February before early hard-court exits at Indian Wells and Miami (YTD 4-8), while Skatov earned main-draw entry via straight-sets qualifying win over Moez Echargui on March 30, building match rhythm after recent Challenger losses to Sebastian Ofner and Roman Safiullin. No reported injuries or withdrawals, with baseline grinding likely key on the slower surface.
