In the ATP Challenger Barletta clay-court Round of 16, higher-ranked Italian Michele Ribecai (#350, 23) meets compatriot Andrea Guerrieri (#382, 27) in their first clay matchup. Guerrieri leads their head-to-head 1-0, having rallied from a set down to beat Ribecai 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in February's M25 Trento ITF event on hard courts. Both advanced yesterday: Ribecai dominated Jacopo Berrettini 6-1, 6-2 as a lucky loser after qualy exit, while Guerrieri overcame higher-ranked Maks Kasnikowski 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 following straight-set qualy wins over Louis Wessels and Pietro Fellin. Ribecai holds a stronger 2026 clay record (6-2 YTD), but Guerrieri's recent resilience and 180cm height edge (vs. 173cm) fuel trader interest in this evenly matched derby with no injury concerns reported.
