In the Grand Prix Hassan II Round of 16 on clay in Marrakech, fourth-seeded Tomas Machac (world No. 55) faces qualifier Rafael Jodar (No. 89) in their first head-to-head matchup. The 19-year-old Spaniard impressed in his main-draw opener yesterday, defeating Dusan Lajovic 6-3, 6-4 without facing a break point and blasting 38 winners, signaling strong baseline aggression suited to the surface. Machac, riding momentum from a recent Houston ATP 250 title with straight-set wins over Duckworth, Halys, and Munar, holds a rankings edge and clay experience but enters on a first-round bye. No injury concerns reported; weather favors play with mild conditions and low wind. Trader consensus reflects Jodar's fresh form versus Machac's pedigree in a competitive affair.
