In the ATP Challenger Split semifinal on clay courts, seventh seed Tom Gentzsch (world No. 248) holds a slight ranking edge over Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg (No. 269), with trader consensus reflecting their competitive paths: Gentzsch's dominant run features a 7-6(10), 6-1 upset of Dimitar Kuzmanov in the round of 16 and a 6-0, 6-2 quarterfinal demolition of junior Andrej Vasilev, showcasing strong serving and baseline defense. Gueymard Wayenburg countered by rallying past fifth seed Frederico Ferreira Silva 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, highlighting resilience amid three prior tournament wins. Gueymard leads their head-to-head 1-0 from a Helsinki Challenger qualifier last November, but both 22-year-olds enter healthy on a preferred surface, with no weather disruptions in mild Split conditions potentially extending rallies.
