In the Barletta Challenger on clay, veteran Italian Marco Cecchinato (ATP 199), a clay-court specialist with a strong 14-8 record in 2026, meets British qualifier Felix Gill (ATP 242) in the round of 32. Cecchinato advanced directly after a solid European clay swing, reaching the Alicante Challenger quarterfinals last week before falling to Sebastian Ofner, leveraging his baseline grinding style and home-crowd support. Gill earned his spot by defeating Gianluca Cadenasso in qualifiers, building momentum as a left-handed upstart who upset Cecchinato 7-5, 6-4 in their lone prior clay meeting at the 2024 Piracicaba Challenger. No injury concerns reported; surface favors Cecchinato's topspin-heavy game, though Gill's prior edge tempers trader expectations for a straightforward win.
