Apple’s September 9 “Surprise and Shine” event is the immediate catalyst for the foldable iPhone price market, with the device—widely expected to launch as the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold—slated for announcement alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. Supply-chain reports and analysts including Ming-Chi Kuo, Mark Gurman, and TrendForce have converged on a U.S. starting price of $2,000–$2,500, driven by premium components such as a 7.8-inch inner OLED, reduced-crease display, titanium-aluminum build, and higher memory costs, positioning it well above the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Recent carrier leaks citing $1,999 and TrendForce’s $2,099–$2,299 range reinforce this band, while production ramp-up to roughly 10 million units signals Apple’s commitment to a fall window despite earlier hinge and yield concerns. Traders are weighing these consistent signals against the possibility of Apple absorbing some costs or announcing a higher-tier configuration first.
