**Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s record $360 million domestic opening has set an exceptionally high bar for 2026, yet trader sentiment favors it for second place behind Avengers: Doomsday.** Strong advance ticket sales for Doomsday—already exceeding $50 million months before its December 18 release—signal robust franchise momentum and holiday timing that could push it past $300 million and claim the top spot. This dynamic leaves Brand New Day as the consensus pick for runner-up, given its unmatched summer debut and the gap to earlier releases like Toy Story 5 (~$160 million). Lower-probability contenders such as Dune: Messiah face steeper competition and more modest tracking, while the field’s tight clustering around 50% reflects uncertainty over whether any other late-year title can meaningfully challenge the top two. Upcoming chart updates and final Doomsday presale figures will serve as key swing factors.
