**Retail egg prices stabilized in the $2.00–$2.25 range for July 2026**, with BLS data showing an average of $2.189 per dozen for Grade A large eggs, aligning precisely with the market-implied outcome at 100% consensus. The dominant positioning reflects the sharp supply recovery following 2024–2025 highly pathogenic avian influenza losses, which had previously culled tens of millions of layers and driven 2025 peaks above $6. Aggressive flock restocking lifted national laying hen inventories toward 308–309 million by early 2026, boosting production and creating inventory overhangs that pressured wholesale and retail levels lower. Seasonal post-holiday demand moderation and stable feed costs further supported the normalization, with USDA forecasts anticipating 2026 averages well below prior-year levels. A major new HPAI wave or unexpected demand surge could still shift the outcome outside this narrow band.

The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The July release is presently scheduled for August 12, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month.
The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.
