Malta's Labour Party secured a decisive victory in the May 30 snap parliamentary election, claiming a record fourth consecutive term with a projected majority in the House of Representatives. Prime Minister Robert Abela called the early vote to seek a fresh mandate amid regional geopolitical tensions and economic pressures, building on the party's strong record in prior cycles. Preliminary counts showed Labour at roughly 52 percent against the Nationalist Party's 45 percent, narrowing the margin from 2022 yet confirming a clear parliamentary edge after high turnout near 87 percent. The opposition conceded defeat, citing a positive showing but acknowledging the outcome. Final seat allocations under Malta's proportional system and any remaining counts represent the primary outstanding factors, though they are unlikely to alter the overall result.

This market’s resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the named party in the House of Representatives in the 2026 Maltese general election, not any coalition it may be a part of.
