Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde holds a dominant position in Georgia’s 9th congressional district, a seat rated solidly Republican across major forecasters with the party consistently exceeding 65 percent in recent cycles. Clyde secured his nomination outright in the May 2026 primary with 76 percent of the vote against limited opposition, while Democrat Caitlyn Gegen emerged from a low-turnout Democratic primary. These factors, combined with the district’s partisan registration and historical turnout patterns, underpin trader consensus around a 97 percent probability that a candidate clears the 50 percent threshold on November 3. Late developments such as candidate withdrawal, major scandal, or sharp shifts in voter participation remain the main variables that could still alter the outcome before Election Day.
