Incumbent Republican Austin Scott faces Democrat Kelly Esti and Independent Roman Coley Davis in Georgia's 8th congressional district general election on November 3, 2026. The solidly Republican district, rated safe or solid by Cook Political Report, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and similar analysts, delivered Scott roughly 69 percent in 2024. Scott advanced unopposed through the May Republican primary, while Esti prevailed in a competitive Democratic primary. These factors produce trader consensus that Scott will exceed 50 percent and avoid a December 1 runoff. Late developments such as an unusually strong independent showing, unexpected turnout shifts, or national political shocks could still narrow margins enough to trigger a runoff, though historical patterns and current ratings make such outcomes remote.
