**Incumbent Sanford Bishop Jr. (D) faces limited opposition in Georgia’s 2nd congressional district, a seat consistently rated Solid or Safe Democratic by forecasters.** The general-election ballot features Bishop, Republican Matt Day, and minor-party candidate Brandon Daley, following May and June 2026 primaries that produced no major surprises or high-profile challengers. Georgia’s election rules require a majority for an outright win on November 3, with a potential December 1 runoff otherwise. Trader pricing at 91.8% for an outright winner reflects the district’s partisan lean (D+4 PVI range in recent cycles) and Bishop’s established incumbency advantage, which historically produces comfortable majorities well above 50%. Limited Republican resources and the absence of polling showing a competitive race further support the consensus that vote-splitting or a narrow contest is unlikely. No late developments have altered this positioning ahead of the November ballot.
