New Nationals manager Blake Butera earns his first win as the team sits 1-0, while the Cubs (0-1) aim to rebound at home with top prospect Cade Horton (2.67 ERA) on the mound against veteran Miles Mikolas (4.84 ERA) for Washington. Both rotations are thinned by injuries—Nats missing Josiah Gray and Trevor Williams (60-day IL), Cubs without Seiya Suzuki (10-day IL, knee)—with 42°F weather potentially favoring pitchers and limiting offense in this NL matchup.
