South Africa Women stole a thrilling 2-wicket victory in the 1st ODI on March 29 at Hagley Oval via debutant Kayla Reyneke's last-ball six chasing 269, boosted by Ayabonga Khaka's career-best 6/56 that bowled New Zealand out despite Maddy Green's 85. Yet trader consensus prices White Ferns at 56.5% implied probability to claim the 3-match ODI series, driven by home advantage across remaining fixtures, recent dominant 4-1 T20I series win over the Proteas, and a 200-run thrashing of Zimbabwe earlier in March. South Africa's Dane van Niekerk remains sidelined by calf injury, tilting matchup dynamics toward New Zealand's deeper batting and spin attack led by Amelia Kerr, despite Proteas' edge in four of the last five ODIs.
