Trader consensus in the ITTF Men's World Cup Macao 2026 group stage prices Dang Qiu at 50.5% implied probability against Dean Shu, reflecting table tennis's upset volatility despite Qiu's world No. 11 ranking and 2615 points towering over Shu's No. 112 and 230 points. Qiu enters with momentum from a quarterfinal run at WTT Champions Chongqing last week, where he upset higher seeds like Liang Jingkun before a 2-4 loss to Wen Ruibo in six games, showcasing his right-hand penhold attack's resilience. Shu, Oceania continental qualifier, has scraped through qualifiers but faltered 0-3 versus Andre Bertelsmeier in WTT Singapore Smash quals in February, yet his underdog tenacity keeps odds balanced with no head-to-head history. Momentum from today's Group 12 opener versus Chen Yuanyu or minor fitness updates could sway the razor-thin matchup.
