Hailey Baptiste, ranked No. 33, carries strong momentum into her second-round matchup against No. 85 Renata Zarazua at the Credit One Charleston Open on green clay, fresh off a 6-2, 6-4 first-round win over Olivia Gadecki and recent upsets of seeded players like Elina Svitolina and Jelena Ostapenko on hard courts. Zarazua advanced dominantly 6-2, 6-0 over former US Open champion Sloane Stephens but leads the head-to-head 3-1, including a three-set Hobart victory in January. Baptiste's power baseline game suits the faster Charleston surface, while Zarazua's defensive grinding and clay affinity pose upset risk; no injuries reported, with mild coastal weather expected. Trader consensus reflects Baptiste's form edge despite the rivalry history.
