Schmigadoon! dominates trader sentiment for Best Book of a Musical at the 2026 Tony Awards, driven by its 12 total nominations—including a nod for Cinco Paul’s libretto—and its positioning as the season’s most-nominated production alongside The Lost Boys. The Apple TV+ adaptation’s witty parody of Golden Age musical tropes has generated strong industry momentum and precursor buzz, positioning it as the clear frontrunner in a competitive field. Titanique and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) trail with far fewer nods and limited campaign traction, while The Lost Boys’ book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch has not matched the show’s overall nomination volume in voter discussions. The June ceremony will resolve the category, with guild and critics’ sentiment likely reinforcing the current market-implied odds.
