The Odyssey leads the Best Cinematography market at 56% implied probability following its 2026 release and widespread acclaim for Hoyte van Hoytema’s groundbreaking all-IMAX 70mm photography, which featured custom camera modifications, practical seafaring sequences, and unprecedented scale that has established it as the early craft frontrunner. Multiple other titles sit near even money amid limited reviews and release timing uncertainty, while Dune: Part Three trails at 24.5% as the primary anticipated rival pending its December 2026 debut and potential visual effects push. Lower-priced options like Project Hail Mary reflect solid but narrower technical campaigns to date. With nominations months away, guild precursors and late-year critical reception will serve as key swing factors in this wide-open race.
