Rudy Camacho's edge atop the MLS 2026 Defender of the Year market at 43.3% implied probability stems from his commanding 2025 campaign with Columbus Crew, anchoring the league's stingiest defense with elite interception rates and aerial dominance amid their Supporters' Shield push. Stian Gregersen (42.4%) trails closely on Atlanta United's backline resurgence, blending progressive passing and tackle efficiency, while Zac McGraw's 39.6% reflects San Jose Earthquakes' breakout star status through shutdown duels despite team struggles. This bunched trader consensus highlights evenly matched defensive metrics—no single leader in clean sheets or blocks—compounded by offseason uncertainties like transfers and tactical shifts, keeping the race fluid as 2026 rosters solidify.
