**North Korea’s leadership has shown no interest in a visit to U.S. territory in 2026, with Pyongyang repeatedly conditioning any high-level engagement on the removal of sanctions and an end to what it calls hostile U.S. policy.** Recent U.S. efforts to revive talks, including scaled-back joint military exercises with South Korea and public outreach from President Trump, have received cool or negative responses from North Korean officials, including public denials from Kim Yo Jong. North Korea continues expanding its nuclear and missile programs, conducting tests and live-fire drills, while deepening military and economic ties with Russia and China. Proposed leader-level meetings remain focused on venues such as the DMZ, South Korea, or third countries like China rather than U.S. soil, and no preparatory diplomatic process, invitation, or verification framework supports a U.S. trip before year-end. Trader consensus at 97% against reflects these structural barriers and the short remaining timeline. A late-year breakthrough would require major, verifiable U.S. policy shifts that have not materialized.

For the purpose of this market, a "visit" is defined as Kim Jong Un physically entering the terrestrial or maritime territory of the United States. Whether or not Kim Jong Un enters US airspace during the timeframe of this market will have no bearing on a positive resolution. For purposes of this market, territory of the United States excludes military bases or diplomatic compounds that are not otherwise within the sovereign territory of the United States.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the US or North Korea, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
