Mexico enters the T20 Central American Championship opener against Brazil on April 2 at the Reforma Athletic Club in Naucalpan with strong home advantage on a turf pitch that favors pacers—taking 91% of wickets historically—and a first-innings average of around 125 runs, making toss critical for setting or chasing. Mexico holds the edge in recent head-to-head T20Is, winning the last two encounters by 54 runs (179/5 vs 125) in November 2025 and 47 runs (102 vs 55) in December 2024, though Brazil snatched a narrow 7-run victory in October 2024. Both sides build momentum from sub-regional qualifiers, with Mexico suffering a heavy 92-run loss to Argentina on March 14 amid batting struggles, while Brazil dropped a T20I series to Argentina late last year. No major injury news or squad changes reported ahead of the tri-series including Costa Rica.
