The Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka T20I series, originally scheduled for three matches in Sharjah from March 13-17, was indefinitely postponed earlier this month due to escalating West Asia conflict, including flight restrictions and logistical challenges in the UAE. No fixtures have been played, leaving the bilateral contest unresolved and shifting focus to potential rescheduling in late 2026 at a neutral venue. Afghanistan enters with momentum from recent T20I successes, including a dramatic three-run win in the 2024 series decider against Sri Lanka, bolstered by spinners like Rashid Khan and batsmen Ibrahim Zadran. Sri Lanka, however, boasts a stronger head-to-head record overall, with pitch conditions and toss likely pivotal if revived; traders should monitor ACB and SLC announcements for new dates amid ongoing regional tensions.
