Jay Clarke holds a substantial edge in trader consensus for the Bucharest Open qualifying clash against local 18-year-old Gabriel Ghetu, driven by his No. 179 ATP ranking versus Ghetu's No. 715 and far greater Challenger-level experience. The 27-year-old Brit recently posted competitive results on outdoor hard and clay, including quarterfinal wins like over Oliver Crawford, contrasting Ghetu's ITF M25 focus with losses in Antalya clay events this year. No head-to-head exists; Clarke's height and weight advantages suit clay rallies, but Ghetu's Bucharest home crowd and youth could spark an upset. Match set for March 30 on outdoor clay, with no injury concerns or weather issues reported.
