In the Sao Leopoldo Challenger on clay, eighth seed Felipe Meligeni Alves enters at even money against qualifier Joaquin Aguilar Cardozo, reflecting trader consensus on a tightly balanced first-round matchup despite Meligeni's superior ATP ranking around No. 240 to Aguilar's No. 540. Meligeni's dismal 5-13 record this year, including a recent round-of-16 loss to Jaime Faria in Sao Paulo on clay last week, has eroded confidence in the Brazilian despite home-crowd support and clay-court familiarity. Aguilar, a 20-year-old Uruguayan on an upswing with recent qualifier triumphs over lower-ranked foes like Romeo Arcuschin, brings momentum and stylistic matchup intrigue with no prior head-to-head. Late fitness updates or weather delays could sway the implied probabilities.
