Daniel Altmaier (#55) faces Pedro Martinez (#113) in the Bucharest Open round of 32 on clay, with Altmaier holding a form edge after a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win over Miguel Damas in the Naples Challenger round of 32 earlier this week. Martinez, a Spanish clay specialist, arrives off a gritty 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 comeback against Remy Bertola in the Alicante Challenger round of 16 on March 23, and leads their ATP head-to-head 2-1—all on clay, including a 6-4, 6-2 Estoril victory last April. Recent Challenger momentum favors neither decisively, but Altmaier's higher ranking and Elo rating shape trader consensus on this outdoor red-clay matchup, where Martinez's surface prowess offers upset potential absent injury concerns.
