A court-ordered redistricting map adopted for the 2026 cycle transformed Utah’s 1st Congressional District into a Democratic-leaning seat covering most of Salt Lake County, with analysts rating it Solid or Safe Democratic. The open seat, after Republican incumbent Blake Moore shifted to the 2nd District, drew a crowded Democratic primary field featuring former Representative Ben McAdams and others, while Republican options remain limited. Primary voting on June 23 will set the general-election matchup for November 3, with forecasters and trader consensus reflecting the district’s new partisan composition and Democratic organizational advantages.
