**Incumbent Republican Greg Abbott holds a narrow polling edge over Democrat Gina Hinojosa in the Texas gubernatorial race, while the Senate contest between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico remains highly competitive following Paxton’s primary victory over incumbent John Cornyn.** Recent surveys show Abbott ahead by roughly 2–5 points on average, with some late August and early September polls tightening to a statistical tie or single-digit margins, reflecting shifts among independents and Hispanic voters. Paxton, who secured the GOP nomination with strong Trump backing in the May runoff, faces a Democratic nominee who has posted favorable favorability ratings and narrowed the gap in head-to-head testing. These dynamics sustain elevated probabilities for split outcomes or “other” resolutions in the combo market. The two races operate on separate ballots, allowing voters to cross party lines more readily than in unified national environments. Forecasters rate the governor’s race Likely Republican and the Senate race a Toss-up or Lean Republican, underscoring the potential for divergent results based on turnout patterns, late-cycle economic sentiment, and candidate-specific appeal. Upcoming debates, additional polling releases, and any shifts in national conditions before November 3 could widen or further compress these margins and alter the relative pricing of sweep versus split scenarios.

A candidate will be considered to represent a party by their ballot-listed affiliation or if they are the nominee of that party. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
If the results of these elections are not conclusively known by March 31, 2027, or if an independent or third-party candidate wins one of these elections, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources have conclusively called the relevant Senate and Gubernatorial elections. If all three sources do not achieve consensus in calling the relevant races for this market, it will resolve based on the official certification.
