**Incumbent Republican Austin Scott holds a commanding position in Georgia’s 8th congressional district ahead of the November 3, 2026 general election.** The solidly Republican seat (R+15 PVI) features Scott, who captured nearly 69 percent in 2024, facing Democrat Kelly Esti—who prevailed in her May primary—and a minor independent candidate. All major forecasters rate the race Safe or Solid Republican, reflecting the district’s rural southern Georgia voter base and consistent GOP performance. Scott’s unopposed Republican primary and substantial fundraising edge have reinforced expectations that he will surpass the 50 percent threshold required to avoid a runoff under Georgia rules. Trader pricing at 94.6 percent for an outright first-round winner aligns with the district’s structural lean and historical margins, which have shown little movement despite the broader 2026 cycle. No late developments have altered the competitive landscape.
