In Georgia's 6th congressional district, incumbent Democrat Lucy McBath secured her party's nomination unopposed in the May 2026 primary, while Republican Kevin Martin advanced outright after defeating his primary opponent with roughly 70 percent of the vote. The district's strong Democratic lean, evidenced by McBath's 74.7 percent share in 2024 and consistent Safe Democratic or Solid Democratic ratings from multiple forecasters, underpins trader expectations of a majority victory on November 3 without a December runoff. Fundraising advantages, historical voting patterns, and limited Republican resources further support this positioning. Late developments such as a significant scandal, health event, or sharp national partisan swing could theoretically narrow margins enough to trigger a runoff threshold, though such shifts remain uncommon in this suburban Atlanta seat.
